Any water cooled spindles other than the chinese ones will cost about 10x as much.
Affordable air cooled spindles are available, starting at about 2x the price of the chinese spindles. Check out Hertz spindles on Ebay.
Hi guys,
Been trying to find some good 2.2kw water cooled spindles. I would prefer something a little bit better than the Chinese ebay ones.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

What do you mean by "good"?
Imo, "good" spindles start at about $1500. Anything else is a "cheap" spindle.
The cheap aren't bad but "good" spindles are expensive.

That is a good question (no pun intended...).
Looking for a spindle for my fixed gantry design that will be milling plastics, woods and aluminum.
Only foresee myself running the machine no more than 8 hours a week.
Want something that won't break after a year or so, that's reliable and not hard to wire up, fix and maintain (bearing replacement etc).
I've just purchased a Delta EL 2.2kw VFD, so something that will match that nicely.
Ebay chinese 2.2kw water cooled spindles are going for around $170 AUD. I'm thinking I would like to spend up to $500 AUD.
The vast majority of people using chinese spindles get at least a few years out of them.
Buy one, and use it until it dies. Then buy another, and use it until it dies. Then buy another. That gets you to your $500. But you'll probably buy a new machine before you get to a third spindle.
If you insist on water cooled, then there's very little difference between a $170 spindle and a $500 spindle. The main difference being how much money the seller is making.
If you don't mind air cooled, I'd look at this, if 18,000 rpm will work.
