Anyone have any info as to why a Haas VF4 with a new Yaskawa A1000 VFD would rigid tap deeper than commanded? All of my Z moves otherwise are perfect. It's only when tapping that it goes deeper than commanded. Example: 3/8-16 @ 640 RPM / 40 IPM commanded to Z-1.15 goes to Z-1.32. Changes in the speed/feed changes the overshoot error. Our maintenance guy is too lazy and/or too unskille to figure it out so it's up to me.

It worked correctly before the old drive went bad. I argued with the maintenance guy that there must be some parameter(s) in the new drive regarding acceleration/deceleration etc that he has not checked. He argued it had nothing to do with it. Amazing, it worked before changing that one and only component and now it doesn't.

When he first replaced the drive the command speed curve vs actual speed was off also. I changed the speed and step parameters to get that working right but still can't get my taps to go to the commanded depth. Driving me nuts. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
