Huanyang hy02D223B or Askpower A131

HI All,

Recently I have bought 2.2kW spindle kit of eBay. I am a bit confused about my VFD.
On the label is HY02D223B but inside it looks like A131? What you think guys?

VFD works with default settings as it should. 400 hz is setup as maximum and 100 hz as minimum , I can control speed thru panel no problem.

Yesterday I did try to connect 10k Pot for speed controlling.
Following instruction i connect all the cables to correct terminals and change value in the setting to Pn 03 from 2 to 1.

Now when i turned on my vfd lcd display was showing 100 and turning pot didn't change anything - do I need change some other settings as well to get pot working?

According to the A131 manual posted here on CNCzone, Pn03 should be set to 3 (external 0..5V).

Thank you for the replay, so the option 1 is for the pot that is already fitted in to the control panel?

That is correct.
1 - the built-in potentiometer
2 - the built-in up/down buttons
3 - external 0-5V input (which is where you have your potentiometer wired)
4 - external 0-10V input
5 - external 0-20mA input
6 - serial interface
7 - "multi-segment signal" - as far as I understand, you can program 8 different speeds and switch between those speeds using external buttons.

Do you think i can use Mach 3 plugin to control speed, if yes how i connect it to my PC

If your VFD has a serial control option, you can use RS485 Mach3 plugin. You will need a USB to RS485 adapter to connect the VFD to the computer.

Another option is to use PWM control through 0-5V analog input. What kind of breakout board are you using?

I have hy-jk02-m breakout board as my main board, also i got second board fitted in my 'Driver Box' but is not connected is there in case I need it
Also i have got RS232 to RS485 adapter.
I have seen plugin for Mach but not sure how to connect VFD to RS485 adapter
