Do you mean an ATC that accepts a 2.2Kw Spindle?
    Or an actual ATC spindle?
Blurry customs used to make an ATC that accepted a chinese spindle, but now only seem to have their own ATC spindles for about $3600.

I've heard from someone that has one that it didn't work as smoothly as an HSD, but it's a lot cheaper. I haven't seen one myself.

Thanks Ger21, I have seen blurrys spindles they do look good. one of theirs could be on the cards, however just feel it would be a shame to make the current chinese spindle surplus to requirements as its treated me so well so far.

Partly the reason for the post i because I saw a post on here for a bolt on atc attachment, only can't seem to find the post now.

So really its a cartridge or addon type i'm looking for before taking the plunge and going for a two in 1. Does anyone has an experience with the cartridge/addon type atc?

A hsd would be amazing but unfortunately little out of my price range, and more than id need for wood/plastics i feel.

Other than the DIY one you mentioned, the only one I've ever seen was the Blurry Avenger, which was apparently rather short lived. Like most Blurry products, I've never seen one in the real world.

Yeah thats a shame, That's exactly what im looking for. I'm surprised they didn't take off with so many chinese spindle users.

The cost is way to high for these, that is why they are not for everyone, there are Chinese build spindles, the same with a tool change and more compact, that are just as good and half the price

This is probably the thread you were looking for

Thanks for the replies. I've just noticed the cartridge type atc all seem to have slow maximum rpms @12000 max. So looks as though its a new spindle.

The http://www.automationtechnologiesinc...dle/kl-2200atc looks interesting, Im just wondering what the qualities like being that is boasts 24000rpm where the more expensive options only seem to go up to 18000? Wonder if this is through better engineering or poor testing :s

is what your looking for. I'm not sure if it's really a good option but may be worth trying.

Yea I thought about buying one but instead I'm going to hold out for the 2.2kw iso 20 from automation technologies. I'm not keen on the 3500 I'll have to spend after buying toolholders but I'm tired of touching off every tool on complex parts.

Tell me about it. I'm that bored of it I've resulted in making a jig that I drop the collet and nut into and put the bit in the collet and the jig has a peg or hole that when I put the bit it the collet it either sits on the peg or falls in the hole and this makes the tool stick out within 0.1mm which is fine for most of what I'm doing so I don't have to touch off everytime.

Hi just wondering how it all worked out?. I'm going down the path now and am wondering about the 2.2kw spindle.
