Sounds like you need to check how many "poles" you have in your settings. I had the same problem running at half speed. I remember I had 4 pole setting for a 2 pole motor or vise versa
I am working with a 110v 1.5kw vfd with a pot control on the front panel. I attempted to configure to the settings in this post and the vfd will not take them. I change a pd setting from 110 to 220 and hit set. I'll check it again and it will still be at 110. I am trying to get full rpm out of my 800w 220v spindle. It currently only reaches 11520.

I have no information on a 800W Spindle, I thought they were a DC motor, if they are then you can not use this VFD to run it, It has to be AC 3 Phase to be able to use the VFD you have, I see they do have some 800w spindles that are 3 phase, all the setting below will be correct except for the Amp settings, let us know what you are using for that amp setting
If it won't take the settings you have the lock on PD000=0 you will have a (1 ) for this parameter, it needs to be 0
Here are all the correct settings for your Drive
Huanyang Mactec54
PD000=0 for Parameter unlock ( 1 ) for Parameter Lock
PD001=0 (1 For Remote Control)
PD002=0
PD003=400
PD004=400
PD005=400
PD007=20
PD008=220
PD011=120 (Minimum Setting 120)
PD009=15
PD010=8
PD13= 08 is for Factory reset, Only use this to set VFD to Factory Default Settings
PD014 Accel=12 ( Adjust to suit)
PD015 Deccl=12 (Adjust to suit) ( PD15 is ignored IF PD26=1 Then the Spindle will Coast to a Stop)
PD141=220 ( Motor Rated Voltage )
PD142=9 ( Motor Max Amps) (Set for your motor Amp Rating 2.2Kw Spindle 9 amp Max)
(Set for your motor Amp Rating 1.5Kw Spindle 7 amp Max)
PD143=2 ( Motor Number of Poles)
PD144=3000 (Max Motor RPM) =3,000= (24,000)

Great advice guys! Working like a champ with 24k rpm's now. Thanx again!!
Is there a way to get an "output" from these to control the cooling pump? I cant see the logic in having the cooling pump running when the spindle is not on, so was thinking that a signal could be sent to control a relay to switch the pump on if spindle was running.
Yes there are configurable outputs, depending on the model, PD050/051/052 = 5 'set frequency reach' is probably what you want, this I think is the same as the typical 'Up to speed' setting on most others.

Hi,
you can set PD52 to 1 (if you have the same VFD I have).
In this case the relay at FA/FB will close as soon as the VFD gets a "run" command.
FA/FB is able to handle 3A / 250AC so you should usually be able to connect the pump directly.

I would use an external relay the internal ratings are for resistive load and if the internal one fails or motor overloads, you will be out of luck.

Was planning on using a relay anyway, just wasnt sure if it could be done.
Thanks for the advice
Hello World!!!
I just installed a new Huanyang VFD and spindle on my CNC and I am having trouble. I have searched the WWW for help and no luck yet. I can press run and it will run fine, but I have to trip the breaker to shut it off. The stop button wont work, also there is no change while using the onboard pot. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello, I have set up my new Huanyang vfd with 2.2kw spindle. Firstly, the onboard potentiometer does nothing. But my big problem is that I can press RUN and it fires up and runs great, but the STOP button does nothing, I have to trip breaker to shut it off. What have I done wrong? Does it require an external on/off/for/rev switches and or pot?

Sounds like a parameter may be set wrong, compare these settings to what you have, these are all that needs to be set, unless you want to use some other functions

Mine is set at 4 poles. Would that cause the pot and stopping issues?
Hi Phil. I dont have an onboard pot on mine although with the numerous settings on these would imagine you may need to activate the unit to allow the speed to be controlled by the pot. Make sense? About the stop well that should work under all circumstances I would have thought? Mine is not just a quick press though I need to hold it down for half a second before my spindle starts to slow down. The only other reason I can see for it not working is mechanical. What ever is the easiest way, I would recommend you test it with a meter. Chinese are sometimes not very vigilant when they build stuff and a dud switch is well plausible.
Actually mate just thinking I wonder if there is a setting that needs to be addressed there to allow the unit to be controlled by the front panel?

The Pot needs to be 10K

I am using a 10k ohm Pot with+10v on one end, ACM on the other end, and VI on the wiper.
I am also using the 3 wire setup it shows in the manual for the FOR/REV/STOP/RUN functions. I am using 3 toggle switches.
When I select forward it runs great......the problem is that the Pot will only let me speed it up from a slower setting, and it will not allow me to adjust it for slower speeds. meaning once it has reached a certain speed my only control is to speed it up more until max. ALSO, I still cannot stop it from running unless I trip the breaker.
I ran the machine for several hours Friday and all went well. It barely gets warm at all. it is an air cooled spindle. I just need to figure out the speed problem and how to make it stop on command.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. THANKS in advance.
I don't think it is a good Idea to use Toggle switches, to turn it, on/off, like you are, when using the 3 wire setup,your computer should be in control turning it on/off
The buttons on the VFD will not function when you have the 3 wire setup connected,
You have to use PD001=0 for the Buttons to work
Your Pot wiring where are you getting the 10v from
You will damage the VFD if you continue to turn it off from the Circuit Breaker

Even if you have computer control enabled, you can still stop the inverter by using the stop button on the inverters display.
