I have a legit Artcam Express package and it has no shape editing capabilities for building models up from the ground. We use Aspire 4. Excellent value for money and the best aftermarket service and assistance you'll get. The user interface is better/easier in Aspire and the actual on screen work space is much better. Be prepared to spend money because there is no such thing as cheap 2.5D/3D software. Your looking at 20 to 25 K. Artcam insignia(R 30 600) is about the same as Aspire 4(R 23 300), but you have more editing options in Aspire4 which is more like Artcam Pro (R 82 500). I know the vac forming industry and I am a pattern and mould maker with 20 years experience.

Hi. I am new to this forum as well, so am I to machining. I just bought a used 45mill bench top mill. The lead screw nuts need to be replaced. Would it be better to replace the leadscrews as well. Where will I be able to find these. I am planning to upgrade to cnc. Any advice will be appreciated

Hi Andre the nuts are normally brass and not to difficult to have made. You have to remove the lead screw and depending how bad that is worn you might have to replace that as well
If you want to change to cnc you might as well change the lead screw for a ball screw

Hi Donovan. Thanks for the reply. I asked for a quote from bolt and engineering in Rustenburg for both types. Apparently the suppliers workers are on strike, so I am still waiting for a response. Which suppliers can I contact for a cnc kit, and what do I need to look at
