Does anone know how to use...

    the edrawing CAD progam.

I happen to have a .easm CAD file that i want to import to Solidworks but Solidworks cannot open the file. I also want to know ifyou can dimension parts in a edrawings file and how to do that? Or can anyone help me in using edrawings?

I do not think there is any information in an Edrawing. As far as I know it is a viewer like the one I have with Alibre. It allows me to send drawings and 3D models to customers that do not have a CAD software or Solid Assembly abilities.

    BTW: Alibre uses Adobe 3D

Toby is correct. Edrawings were created for us designers to be able to send cad data to a customer and have them review it. The whole purpose of edrawings is to protect dimensional data yet 'show the basics' As a solidworks operator you are able to 'allow' certain aspects of the model to be revealed [dimensions if you want ] yet you don't have to worry about someone taking a model and loading it into their CAM and machining the part w/out your permission.

It's not possible to import a Edrawing [assembly or part] into SW and make use of it. If someone has sent you a Edrawing File, you'll have to request a 'real' copy of it.. or your SOL....

Depending on how the original SW file was saved, the newer versions of eDrawings will allow the user to export the model as an STL (Stereo Lithography) file. STL files aren't the best models to be working with, but it may allow you to get the data you're looking for. It all depends on the options selected when the designer saved the eDrawings file.

Well I learned something new today! I just went and looked at the options and sure enough, STL is there. Strangly I've never noticed it, or maybe they've added it recently, but didn't tell us! Anyway STL export is an option if it's checked when the file is made. It looks like the default is to be unchecked, so most likely the Edrawings file in question won't have it enabled. [or they would have mentioned it I'm sure]
