Cutting a slot in a shaft

Hi guys, im having trouble cutting a 2x1 slot in a shaft for a circlip.

Ive tried using revolved cuts etc. but to no avail.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Just for clarity, it is 2mm wide, 1mm deep and all the way around the shaft.

Btw, if your trying to do a snap ring groove.. SW has a tool to do that to fit your snap ring.. rather than doing a revolved cut or an extruded cut w/ an offset..
