How to apply a new template to a previously created part model?

I have updated the part template in solidworks but for all of my older parts I want them to use the new template because the new template has a bunch of custom properties defined for annotations... thus when I make a drawing of the model it uses all the custom properties in the solidpart.

is this possible to retroactively apply a new template?

Sorry, unfortunatly you can't change the part or assembly template you can do this with drawings but not part files..
