    Laptop System requirements

I took a look at the website for miniimum system requirements for Solidworks.

    "IntelŽ and AMDŽ processors"

I am leaning towards Windows Vista
I was wondering what the experience of forum users with AMD, Centrino, Celeron etc

Is there anythinng I should definatelly stay away from?

Only issues most users have is with ATI integrated graphics.
I suggest upgrading away from integrated graphics to any Nvidia card.
If you are going to be a "power" user on the laptop get a Quadro card and 4gb mem.
I have had no issues with either AMD or Core 2 duo.
I would use XPP but we will all inevitably need to change to Vista (or the next MS crap) at some point in time.

The only system your going to get garrenteed results from is one which SW has tested and recommends. To-date, this includes Dell's 'Precision' line of laptops. I've got a M6300 which has worked GREAT for running SW.. [I'm typing this on it right now]... there are others, some have had luck w/ the non-certified Dell Laptops, but the results aren't garrenteed. I tried a couple different laptops prior to buying this one.. and none of them worked.
