Adding features

Is it possible to pull features from one Solidworks part and apply them to a different part / file? (e.g.) I have a part with a fairly detailed pocket / extruded cut. Can it be added somehow to a different part without a lot of duplication?

I also have a File that was written in SW2008 that I need to open in SW2007 is that possible? If so how?

This is possible in 2008. It's got some fancy name that I can't remember.. I'm not using 08' yet as I've got a huge project closing [this week] which I want done before I move to the version... it looked pretty darn niffty in the 'roll out' however!

[edit-- sorry I missed the question about 2008/2007... the answer is no.. you need the new version to open the new file.. and they are not bringing out the functionality to be able to save as older versions.. so they say..]

Hi:
Why not export the 08 file as a parasolids file, and then run feature works in 07 to recognize the features?. It may not be the optimal solution,but a solution nevertheless.

or just leave it a dumb solid (unless you need the features).
