Hi, i'm pretty new to solidworks and currently i've drawn an assembly with many different parts. The question is, how do i lay the assembly out so that i can draw the tool path with my CAM?
I'll like to cut the parts using 2d cutting, so i'll really need them laid out on 1 plane. Is there a way to do it?
I'm using solidworks, save into x_t format, open with my CAM, and convert into G code. Anybody care to shed some light?
Thanks!
I would create a dwg or dxf [whichever your CAM prefer's] and make a drawing view of the part which is 1:1 in scale. This drawing should have the tangent lines removed [or at least were possible] as well as hidden lines removed. Save the drawing as a DWG and open it in your CAM..
I do several million dollars of laser cutting each year and this is how I lay it out.
