I just started learning Solidworks. I started with the tutorials that came with Solidworks and I got to the convert from AutoCad. It seems like it would be just as quick to start from scratch. I have a lot of old drawings that were done in Anvil and some in Autocad. What do you guys suggest start from scratch or try to convert? |

| I'd say if they're fairly simple, start from scratch. You'll get more comfortable and learn as you go. If they're complicated, convert.

| I find that 99% of the time for most parts I can re-draw them faster than I could convert them. The added advantage is the usable geometry you have to work with and modify in the future, USABLE constrained sketch's for this type of work is a huge help.. FWIW Jerry
