Hi, can any body tell me how i get Solidcam to write programs in Heidenhain .H format instead of g code? Do I need a different postprocessor? & where would i get one from?

I use Solidcam all the time.. 2.5D... I have edited my post a lot to get it like
I want.. (Fadal VMC15).. but never heard of .H format...

go to

C:\Program Files\SolidCAM2006R10\Gpptool

and edit Fadal2_M4.GPP or whatever file for your machine..

So it's possible for the user to modify the Solidcam posts? How many posts do they give you with the system? Do you have to buy any other program to edit a post?

No you dont need to buy any program to edit post. Gpptool is it in SolidCam. There is even a manual how to doit.

Where or how do I get the manual detailing how to edit the Solidcam Post Processor files?

I know how to get into the relevant post file in order to make modifications but don't know how to make changes as everything seems to be text based commands, which I can't make sense of
