I have what may seem to be a dumb question. Being relatively new to solid works, and completely new to having pieces quoted for production, I can't seem to quite get it right when it comes to file formats. Here is the scenario: I have two solid, 3d, parts created in solidworks and wish to have them produced. I have put a RFQ in the appropriate forum here, and have emailed numerous people what I thought was the correct file type in order for them to give me a quote. I saved each .sldprt file as an .igs file.....and that should be all that is needed, correct? Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

| If you want it to go out as a solid..check the Manifold B rep box..under options..see below.

| Nick, I know nothing about Solid Works but .igs should be suitable for importing into virtually any current fully functioning CAD program capable of working with solids and surfaces, it is a commonly used format. |
