    Copy and Paste

In SolidWorks, when you've drawn a sketch or a 3D shape on the same plane and you need to draw another identical entity in different locations on that same plane, is there a way to copy that particular entity and just paste it into the right location?

The entity in question will not be arranged in any particular pattern so that the Pattern tool can't be utilized. I'm just wondering is it's possible to copy and paste an entity or a sketch and paste it somewhere else on the screen; or in a different project all together.

This way I wouldn't have to go through the trouble of re-drawing it.

For sketches, select all then "Copy Entities". Or from menu: Tools-->Sketch Tools-->Copy...
Ctrl+c then ctrl+v also works but you'll most likely need to reposition using "Move Entities" after pasting.

For 3D features first make sure "Merge Result" check box is clear for the feature you want to copy so that you have two separate bodies. Use "Move/Copy Bodies" from Feature toolbar to create a copy. Check "Copy" while you do it. You'll have tools for positioning the feature inside "Move/Copy Bodies" tool. Then use "Combine" to merge all three bodies into one.

I select all of the entities I want to copy, then right click and select "copy entities". Then you can choose an x/y offset or you can do a from/to copy where you move it wherever you want. With the from/to option you can snap to an entity to place it exactly.

    Thank you gentlemen:

I actually looked for these features before posting this inquiry but, I guess I looked right at them and failed to see them.

    I'll give them a try.
