    Lofted surfaces not exporting

Hoping someone may be able to shed some light on what i may be doing wrong and missing.

when creating a model which has lofted surfaces, when i try to export either as a .stl or even a drawing, the lofted surfaces are no longer a part of the model?

Is there something I'm missing or a step i have left out? i have tried 'thickening' but this does work on some of the surfaces created.

    many thanks in advance
    Glenn

I've noticed something similar when trying to make a drawing and I think it's because the curves I'm using for the lofts are under defined. Add relationships to the curves to fully define them and I'll bet it will work.

I'm using projected curves and I'm not quite sure how to define them!

edit - I just re-read your post and noticed that thickening helped - perhaps it's not what I wrote above and you can try and knit your surfaces into a solid?

every part can be exporting in stl in solidworks (even non thicken surface)

just verify, in stl export option if you have : export in one file checked

    Thanks for the replies guys,

I've tried both, exporting as 1 file and kitting the surfaces but still no joy.

Also the curves etc appear to defined, i had issues creating the lofts originally due to them not being defined.

the only way i seem to be able to export as a solid model is as a VRML

scratching my head as to what it is! i'm sure i'll figure it out soon i hope!

    thanks again
