    array copy? multi part design

long story short I have solidworks for mastercam and an fairly new to both.

I need to make some parts from .75x1" 061 (qty 20 ea x 7 all similar) this requires my feisty multi part design... what is the best way? I used to do array copy in cambam.... .SW scares me with selecting stuff cuz I have to go by line by line.

what is the best way to set up multi part fixturing? SW? MC?

its 8 wide of a part I already designed

I don't know if MC works with multi-body SW parts but here's how you can do what it sounds like you want to do:

    Start a new part.
Insert>Part... (select your previously designed part).
Before you click in the field to drop the part in, make sure the "Locate part with Move/Copy feature" is checked.
Clicking the green check mark will drop the part at the origin but you'll be able to move it in mostly the same way you move parts in assemblies.
Position your part where/however it makes sense as far as MC is concerned.
Once you are done locating the part, you can use the Linear Pattern feature to make whatever pattern you want.

(Note: you need to select your first part in the "Bodies to pattern" box, NOT the "Features to pattern" box.)

    Hope this helps,
    AP
