I need to set up a virtual welder...

I can't seem to strike an arc in solidworks

I am learning to use the weld tool.

I have successfully butt welded bar, angle, and tubing end to end. However when I try to weld one tube perpendicular to another tube, I have not been able to find the right combination of faces to select. Everything I have tried gives me the error that the wrong contact, or stop faces are selected. Anyone successfully welding tubing to each other in Solidworks? Any tips?

I have been able to create fillet welds, but no welds between the coplaner surfaces.
