Hi~
Does anyone have experience using models from 3D Model Club?
3D Model Club - Dimensional Art for CNC users
I have not purchased anything from their site because I cannot seem to resize the sample models. You would think a program as powerful as Solidworks would be able to do this.
I am using Solidworks 2009 Premium.

The more I know... the more I realize I don't

The models from 3DModelClub are in *.stl format. I can open them, but cannot make any changes, including any type of resizing. It appears their models are designed to be compatible with programs such as ArtCam and Vectric's Aspire and 3D.
Can anyone out there give it a shot with one of their free models and see if there is a process to resize them in Solidworks? Maybe in the way it's imported?
I have contacted the company and asked about this, but they replied that they could not provide help for all the different programs available.
I couldn't find any free ones on that site to test, but this site showed up on google: vectorclip3d
Those STL files opened up and scaled without any problems.
In SW open the file and say no to the "import diagnostics" pop-up. Next go to Insert > Features > Scale and pick the STL file for the Scale Parameters and enter the desired scale and you're done.
Pretty simple actually.
