Measuring lenght of 3d spline segment?

just wondering has anyone found that you cant cant an arc length with the measuring tool, but you can get a spline length, to get a arc length you have to dimension out the arc in the sketch mode? am i missing something seems quite difficult to measure a length of a 3d sketch with both arcs and splines since you have to use different tools in order to complete the measurent?

Right-click the sketch > Select Chain > use measure tool.
