Say I have a hollow cylinder. Is there a feature in solidworks which will make a solid part of the enclosed volume in the cylinder.
I know this can be done using the flow simulation module in Solidworks but its senseless buying this module just so i do this
Im not sure if i understand your question 100%, but the way i understand it you can e.g. use these two diffferent methods of solving the problem:
the first way i have done it is like so:
1: I have modelled a hollow cylinder with a cylindrical hole inside it, using the revolve-feature.
2: next i have modelled a solid cylinder with the same outer dimensions around the hollow cylinder with ''merge'' unchecked, so i will have two solid bodies intersecting each other.
3: goto features > combine > choose ''subtract'' in operation type > choose the enclosed cylinder in ''main body'' and choose the hollow cylinder in ''Bodies to combine'' and click ok.
Now the only remaining solid is the ''hole'' from the hollow cylinder.
another way to do it is this:
delete all the outer surfaces from the hollow cylinder, and then knit and try to form solid with the remaining surfaces.
