STL will only read in as graphics body

    Hi,

Im trying to load in an STL file which has WAY too many points on it for the resolution i require.

Because it has so many faces, solidworks will only let me import it as a graphics body.

The trouble is, it won't let me save the stl file at a different resolution, because it only sees a graphics body and no real geomatery.

Is there any way I can reducce the resolution of this stl file, even out of solidworks if i have to?

SolidWorks does not play well with STL, regardless of what you do...

I have Solidworks 2011 and Artcam. I can try to open your model for you and reduce the resolution if you email it to me. PM me for my email.
