    FeatureWorks Recognition

I am new to SolidWorks, so I may be missing something here but I am having trouble running feature recognition on an imported solid. If I run automatic, SolidWorks crashes every time. On interactive I can't seem to get every feature recognized. If any of you guys are members of 3d Content Central, the solid file in question is here: 3D ContentCentral - Login

    Thanks in advance

Can you narrow it down a bit? Your link goes to the main page, not to a particular part. What is the name of the part and who is the contributor?

Sorry, the link worked for me, so I assumed it would for others. The part is "Magpul Lower Paco Ramirez" contributed by Wayne Works.

Featureworks usually works best on prismatic type parts. If you are using interactive mode start by try to recognize the fillets first. You want to get the part down to basic shapes with sharp corners so you can process cuts and extrudes, etc. If it can't recognize a fillet try to delete it and remember to add it back in the new model.

    Good Luck

Sorry, I can't help you. That was a bit too much for my computer or it's too much for SW. I'm using SW2010 and downloaded the 2010 model of it and the attached screenshot is after 20 minutes of running.
