| Calico I don't use Solidworks but if it is like most other cad systems there will be a method to scale the drawing somewhere. Go to your help section and do a search for scale. Hopefully you will find something there. Mike

| Calico what files will SW import/export? You might save the file as a dxf, import it to Rhino or have someone do it for you, make the change and then import it back in as a new file in the correct unit size??? At least it is worth a try. Mike

I ment to cut and past it so you could use the "Modify factor" settings.(tools sketch tools/modify) It wouldn't work for me if i didn't cut and paste it first, for some reason. but i just tryed again and i didn't need to this time. Crapy solidworks bugs(or bad user hehe) ![]() remember to hit enter after you type in the factor number. also have the sketch open for editing and do a select all I hope this is what you needed and you dont have to many sketchs :P Last edited by sendkeys; 06-02-2005 at 02:08 AM. |

to add on to this good idea. might be able to export from soildworks then import the same file but in the import option settings set it to mm cm ect. But you would have to do some testing. i tryed a couple some would work with solids but didnt see one right off that would work with just 2d |

| Sendkeys, I tried the factor and change change to 10 it works. but it means I got to go into sckect mode each parts ? my part has many exruded/sctech also and another. I think it's better to start drawing again from sero. but some part I still can do that "factor" multiply. thanks rud |

| only way i know to do full models would be to use the scale feature or to save as iges then you can edit the header in wordpad to change the scale. Both have draw backs for sure. Not sure what would take more time but do you know any programming? you can use soildworks api to change the dimensions. This is all a pain the the butt for sure. I looked on the newsgroup saw couple other people trying to do the same thing none of them got a working reply |
