Need Help!- Does Solidcam work independent

Am new to this forum ,I like to know that weather solidcam works only in solidworks or also any other software

Yes, and no.

SolidCAM works only in SolidWorks.

However, the same company also publishes InventorCAM ( http://www.inventorcam.com/ ), which is effectively SolidCAM for Autodesk Inventor.

The question I have is, when is SolidCAM going to be a plugin for MasterCAM, Gibbs, Esprit, SurfCAM and all the others that folks already have and paid a fortune for?

Everytime I tell my buddies how good I think SolidCAM is, they tell me how much they already have invested in their existing systems. If SoldiCAM could plugijn to them everybody wins!

Before you ask, no, I didn't have to pass a drug test.

I think I should get a % for this awesome idea!

Great idea, but I think MasterCAM et al would hit the roof and nobody would benefit except the lawyers (and they have quite enough money to be going on with).

Something I came across some years ago in the aircraft industry (where companies can have thousands of seats) is a 'swap-out' where CAM company A offers a user with CAM company B software a 'one for one' swap. I don't know if that would happen in tough times like now though.
