Hi guys, Hope you can help me out with this. My problem is shown in the attached screenshot. I'm very new to all this but what I'm trying to do is do a finishing pass with linear step over pattern the problem after completing a step over SolidCAM is electing to move the tool up the Z axis, position across to the next step over and then move the bit back down. This is highly inefficient in terms of machine time but I have no idea how to avoid this with my somewhat limited knowledge. Any help would be greatly appreciated! |

| Try using a zig zag if you haven't already and angle along the path for Z entry stratergy. Maybe also try working on selected surface and not a boundary box. It's been years since I used 3D milling as HSM is much better for controling this type of toolpath. |
