Greetings from Cleveland!
I am completely new to SolidCAM (actually I am totally new to machining, CNC, and CAM in general, so please bear with me). I am, however, very familiar with SolidWorks.
I have a part that I need to create a few CNC programs for. The part is first turned on a Hass CNC lathe, then milled in two different set ups on a Hass VF3.
The first program I would like to create is the turning program. I have created an additional configuration in SW that has the extruded cuts (milled) suppressed, and this is the sldprt that I would like to make a turning program of.
However, after I define a coordinate system, SC changes the sldprt to the default configuration and when this happens I cannot select the geometry of the part that I need to turn!
Surely I don't have to create a separate sldprt for each operation? I have tried to find a way to display the other configuration again in SC, but so far have been unable to do so.
Thank you all in advance for your help, I had a couple "phone classes" with a gentlemen from SC, and although he was very nice, he was not able to answer most of my questions, and never ended up referring me to someone who could.
Mill and lathe will be using different posts so you will need separate part files.
Also when using deferent configuration you have to update your stock.
I hope this helps.
