Dear members of the forum I will be grateful for your advice on the following subject: I am surfacing a body with a concave top surface as shown in the embedded picture. My question concerns finishing. Which technology would you recommend for achieving the smoothest finish? (Linear? Constant step over? …?) The material is hardwood and I am using a ball end mill. Any additional recommendations and insights are welcomed Kind regards Ariel |

| I would use Constant step over going along the length of the cyclinder. If you have it tho, use HSS - 'Morph between two boundary curves' and select the two straight edges for the boundary curves. Gives excellent results. BTW, dunno if its my old eyes, but that picture looks convex to me! Kind regards Engy.... PS...then use sandpaper |
