Missing Tools

Dear all,

At first, sorry for my bad enlish . I am not an native english speaker and I don't live in the USA but I will try to to make it understandable for you....

I have installed a new version of solidworks and solidcam on a computer. Now the colleague who si working with this software told me that he can't use the source code which solidcam is generating...
The problem is that the tools are missing in the code... i don't understand exactly what the problem is.

The old code was like this:
-----
%
O5000 (.CNC)
/M56 (ABSAUGE 410/510 EIN)
(N100=T2 HMBOH-12.)
(N200=T1 HMSCHLFR-12.)
(N300=T26 HMBOH-4.2)
(N400=T4 ENTGR-8.)
(N500=T3 GEWBOH-5.)
-----

and on the new one these first lines are missing and it looks like this:
-----
%
O5000 (.TAP)
( MCV-OP ) (28-JUN-2011)
(SUBROUTINES: O2 .. O3)
G90 G17
G80 G49 G40
-----

does anybody knows how i can fix this that everything is working fine?

This is a post processor thing. The post needs to be set up to output code in the format you want and that is done by editing the GPP file. The first place to look is in the SolidCAM Settings menu and make sure that the default post processor (default CNC Controller in SolidCAM speak) is set to the right one. If you have just installed an upgrade you may have overwritten the old settings.

Do you have a backup copy of your old post processor.

Hy,

Thank you for the info. Can you tell me where i have to change it in the settings? I don't know if we have a backup...

If I had it, can I export these post processor settings? And if yes, how can i do this?

You don't change settings, you rewrite the post processor by making edits to the MAC and GPP files.

If you were using SolidCAM before you put the new version on your PC then you should have a back-up somewhere. If you find your back-up, then just copy it over and set it to be your default controller in the SolidCAM settings page. To find this, from the menu go SolidCAM, SolidCAM Settings and then select the second option down "Default CNC Controller" and browse to where your post processor is kept.
