    Question Separate GCode

Just a quick one, is it possible to generate a separate gcode file, per MAC operations.

i.e. milling/drilling block one side, then a different set of ops on the other side, under Mac 2(1-position). My gcode just combines the lot, But I was wondering if I can make it split between each mac?

At the risk of stating the obvious (and I apologise if I have misunderstood).

Highlight each op in whatever MAC position you want by using the standard windows click shift or click Ctrl method for multiple selections.
With them highlighted go, right click - Gcode - Generate, name your program and your done.

Again sorry if I have got the wrong end of the stick on this one........

There a number of ways of achieving separate G code files. There is the method Dengo mentioned, there is an option in the MAC to generate separate programs for each SC Job and there is my favourite which is to insert a split in the Job Tree. You do this by selecting the job before you want the new program to start, right-click and down below the half-way line is "Split". Select that and a dialog box comes up asking you what your want to call it i.e. "OP 2" or "TURNOVER" etc. and thats it. When the program is posted you will get two (or more, you can insert as many splits as you like) G code files.

Another advantage of using splits is if you select the split header, right-click and suppress it, all the jobs in the split get suppressed in one go.

There is some good stuff lurking in the right-click menu. I keep looking at the "File..." option whereby you can insert an existing program or chunk of code. I have a plan to use that to insert various probing cycles in to the CAM output when I can convince our shopfloor people that using QDEF's for probing co-ordinates isn't bad magic.

    Thumbs up

    Cheers

    The splits solved that.

    Quite simple when you know....
