I was looking at these smoothstepper boards, and got kind of confused.
If the pulses from the PC are buffered and then re-pulsed to the drivers, how can instant probe feedback be achieved?
Surely the buffering must import some delay between sending data and the motors moving?
When my probe touches something, it will have already been pulsed past where I would want it to stop.
Am I missing something obvious?
I believe that the SS handles the probing, and then relays the info back to Mach3.
Also, there's now an ethernet SS which is supposed to be much better than the USB version
