Is the PokeKeys emulating a serial port device on the USB ? Can you talk to it with ascii ?
Hi,
I received my parcel of SS, C32, Index pulse card and Pokeys55T a few days back from cnc4pc.
I want to know if anyone has used a Pokey55T with the SS before.
I bought the pokeys because I want to integrate a pressure sensor and linear scale into my cnc grinding machine which I am building. I am learning Visual Basics so that I will be able to do the programming.
I was suggested that the pokey will act as an input output device which can manage the data sent by the sensor and linear scale and this data can be configured easily with the program I make in Visual Basics. So I guess its like customizing Mach 3 as well as the cnc machine.

Larken,
I am not familiar with ASCII codes as I am still learning the basics of software programming and electronics is a far of subject for me as I am a mechanical Eng. Though I have started grasping the top layer of it lately.
I still have`t made a connection of the electronics to my pc. I want to study everything thoroughly so that I do not blow up anything, and if I do then I will have to import everthing and that cost a lot of time and customs duty.
Can you help me with understanding the pokeys concept?
