That delphi group was pretty dead anyway- there used to be a more active one on Yahoo, but its MIA as well. I sure wouldn't want to be running a business out of Michigan these days either.
I just noticed that the Smithy forum on Delphi is gone- I'm not an owner, but I used to get catalogues from them every couple of months, but haven't seen one since last year. I know they must be hurting from the economy in Michigan. Anyone have any info?

Nevada is not doing to well either.
Delphi lost a lot of people when they started charging a fee for various grades of service. Other places like the Rec.metalworking had no moderators, so they got taken over by a lot of off topic stuff and people lost interest. I think the commercial forums like this one have moved in to fill those voids. The advertisers pay enough so that the moderators can keep the loonies under control.
This is probably the best place to go for Smithy support as a forum and think tank :
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/smithy-machines/
The guy that runs it is an electronics engineer and prototype machinist. He used to participate to my 3-in-1 Yahoo! group very frequently until he took the plunge to setup his own group.
As a plus he references his experience with the Sieg mill from Grizzly, Super X3, I think it is. He converted it to his home-brew CNC, off his separate web page full of photos of his projects, both Sieg and Granite.
Want to know about the Smithy Granite 3-in-1, go to his group. But he covers all the Smithy machines.
Biggest problem with usenet, ( rec.crafts.metalworking ) via PC is trojans. Lost a hard drive that way. Google Groups is safer. My old WebTV was safer doing usenet.
(This thread is a bit dated. I do not stop by frequently; just noticed the topic. I am impressed very positively with CNC Zone .)
