| Airchunk, There are probably a lot more owners, but usually people who are busy using their machines do not have time to frequent these boards. This market is fairly diluted, with Smithy, Tormach, Syil and a host of other shops making CNC conversions of various Chinese mills. I can't imagine the entire market supporting more than 500-700 units per year. Smithy has dropped 3 major products from their line in the past months, indicating that the market share is just not sufficient to justify the expense. They do a lot of chest puffing over how much R&D work goes into their products, so if that's true, they must have taken a huge financial hit to develop these products and then just drop them. On the other hand if thats all just hype and they are simply putting a Smithy badge on some existing Chinese product, then the reason for the drop is probably low sales or a quality control issue. |

| mvcalypso, Hey I really like that enclosure. i need to build one for mine . I have the older smithy cnc 1240 with the gear box and servo's . I may ned to pick your brain on it . Are the servo's sealed so coolant does not interfear with them ? Or do you have to seal them ? |
