Smithy Mill head question I have an older Smithy 1220, my mill head swings around quite a bit during milling operations. I have tightened the so called "lock" down with a dead blow hammer and I am still able to swing the milling head. Anyone have a fix for this? I was thinking about drilling a hole so I could insert a pin or bolt to prevent this.

I have one also. Mine does the same thing. I very seldom use it. Hope someone had come up with a cool idea to fix. olf20

I'm going to tap the hole all the way through and use a piece of M10 x1.5 all thread with jam nut on both sides. This fix is on the Yahoo Groups Smithy group. If that doesn't work, I'm going to drill and tap the column for a bolt to keep it from moving.
