Default Parts fresh off the SL6

Here are three parts fresh off the SL6. Just finished turning the center sections. Not touched other than to dry them off with a paper towel. These go on now for further machining but I thought the finish was excellent.

Sorry I have been slow to get some images posted. Dan.

    Thanks Tmarks!

    Sure Brian...
    This one came from Shars...
    The holder is a # 404-1837

    The insert is a # VBMT 331 EM YBG205 SKU # 424-1874 Ansi VBMT 331

This one is a left hand holder. The insert is actually for stainless but I find a lot of inserts for stainless can give super nice finishes in aluminum, brass & copper. Even on T5. Hope this can help. Dan.

Wow - so you did the whole part except the threads and parting with that one tool?

I use an MVJNR (which I just looked is a Neg Rake) - not too sure when to use neg vs pos rake.

I did the entire center section, angles & etc with that tool as well as the OD on the ends, then a grooving tool... then threading tool. I didn't know if I would like that tool or not when I purchased it...thats why I bought a cheapie. It has about become the favoite tool in the turret. It is a cheap tool BUT... I have $300 Sanvick tools that don't any better finish at all.
