    Monitoring Input Signals

    Hi all,

I just have a general question on Siemens 810D controls. Is there a way to check the machine input signals and monitor them the same way you can do it on a Mitsubishi or Fanuc system? (if you know how to do it on a different Siemens control, please tell it would give me a pretty clear hint on how to do it on this control)

For example if I were to test a limit switch on a Siemens 810D control, is there a screen where I could monitor it on the control?

    Thanks!

Diagnostics from menu Machine, Parameters, Program, Services, Diagnostics and Start-Up is for alarm menu, but I read in the 810D start-up guide that there is a diagnostics menu somewhere where you can do the I/O monitoring.

    Cheers.

Edit: It seems the answer is that it cannot be done from the operator's panel directly and must be done with the S7 PDIAG software.

If you have full access to the system menu, you can enter each plc adress you like into the PLC menu, and you can watch on the screen, which value it has.
