    shopmill to windows Siemens840D

    Hello all,

It may be a dumb thing for some of you guys, but I don't know how to exit the shopmill on my controler and enter windows. I would like to try load drivers to use front usb to load/download programs using memory stick. Thank You for any answer...

One of the posts on this forum says then if I will install usb driver, I don't have to use card reader (which is already dead) to upload the programs. That is the reason I'm asking for help...

If your 840D system uses a PCU20 it doesn't have windowsXP, it may be winnt4 or DOS.
Only PCU50 / PCU70 use WindowsXP Embedded. If DOS like mine you can only plug keyboards into the USB socket. The PCMCIA slot in the PCU does take standard 1Gb CFcards with a $5 ebay adapter dependant on age of system software.

My 810D is a PCU20 266/32, but most of the manuals seem to apply to both 810D & 840D so it would seem this PCU is used on both Systems.

Should say on BIOS screen what PCU it is IIRC. PCU is the front end PC in the operator panel, behind screen.
