    Default Siemens 840D Probing

    Hi All,

I am on a 5 Axis Machining Centre with a 'B' axis head and 'C' axis table.

All I want to do is align 2 teeth on a gear using the 'c' axis. The gear would be on centre of rotation.

I want to basically position the probe between the teeth then command the 'c' axis to rotate until it touches the probe, record the c axis position, return to the original position the then do the same with the other tooth to then be able to calculate the centre of the 2 teeth rotationally.

Has anyone got any examples of how to do this on an 840D Control?

I think this can be achieved by using the command DELTDTG (= DELete Distance To Go).
May be this helps as a start point when consulting the manual.
