Beginner's Quest for Advice

hello CNC forums.

i was hoping i could get some advice.

i work at a jewelery store and we design nameplates that are hand cut from sheets of gold.

it is a very tedious and tiring process of using a hand saw to cut out the cursive lettered script.

i was wondering if there was a small scale laser that along with a computer would be able to do so.

i was looking at the versalaser originally but was disapointed to find that it did not cut wood.

does such a machine exist?

thanks for your help.
