old Mori lathe won't Home

Hi All,
My buddy has an old Mori lathe with a 10T control and absolute encoders. Yep, the batteries died in storage and now we're wanting to powerup and run this machine. We didn't lose parameters but get an alarm when trying to zero return the machine..... something about improper position something or other. I think on an OT control you simply hold "P" and "CANCEL" on powerup and it allows you to home. Anything this simple for an old 10T control?
Any help is appreciated.

Normally after the battery died, the absolute servo position will no longer in memory.
The alarm appeared will be something like Z/X Need Zero Return (ABS)
It'll be better if you could indicate the actual alarm on the screen when you power on the machine. That might give us more info on what you are actually facing.

Thanks
