Mori steadyrest

We have a Mori Seki SL400 and have acquired a steady for it. It does come with location to lock the turret into it for moving, however nothing is noted in the manual for this procedure.

Any help I can recieve with this would be appreciated. Dragging it around by hand is a real pain.

Cheers

Daniel

1st Question: Does the turret have the pin that should extend to engage the steady rest?

2nd Question: What model and manufacturer of steady rest did you buy?

Q1,Yes, the turret has the engagement pin. Used frequently for the tailstock.

Q2, The steady is a Mori Seiki steady with the receiver for the turret pin.

we have engaged it manually before, however I would like to know if there is a way for it to auto engage similarly to the tailstock. If so, how.

Cheers
