Wink Plasma

Hi DZ Star,
I have some question.
1)What pin number of 25 pin do you use to turn on and off plasma beam?
Pin1 or not?
2)Do you use stepping or servo motor to control motion?
3)How many watts of motor on Z -axis?

Hope your helps
Mongkol

Also i am trying to ask you guys of the way to use Oxy Fuel system in my machine? I want to know which Valve (on/off) and what torch , I intened to use natural gas if possible can someone tell if that will do for up to 20 mm?

I have seen hand torches used in machines but would be much easier to use a 3 line machine torch. I've never tried to cut with natural gas. Will probably work if torch tips are available for natural gas. I have tried propane but didn't like it because preheat took a good bit longer. Natural gas would take even longer.

I have my Oxy fuel set up with a pair of solenoid valves to turn on & off the mixed gases using the coolant command & light at that point. I have a 3rd. solenoid valve to operate the pierce/cut & have it operating from the same command that fires the plasma torch. I leave all the valves open on the torch itself & regulate the flame at the tank regulators.

Hi all,

I wanted to share this new work with you, it took 4 hours to cut 173 cuts, slow but I was happy with the result!

I had to change the electrode 2 times!!

regards,

That's a really good work, how many nozzles do you burned and is it this your own designs or you buy it somewhere?

Gec,

Thank you,

it consumed 2 electrodes and 1 tip, but I don't have Torch height controller, maybe if I used one it will be less!

this is an old Andalusia Arabic design that is used to be engraved on wood and I have to transfer it to DXF and modify a little (to decrees the number of small cuts)., it took few hours but it was fun working on at night after the kids went to sleep.

I will try to work on some more similar designs in the coming weeks when I have some time.

restarting this project.

Hi all,

I have been away from this cnc plasma project for a while and just got back to it,

I have done some modifications to the table, replaced the leadscrew with rack and pinion on the 3 axis, and changed the gliding bearing with more solid one on the Z axis and the short axis.

I wanted to share this one with you guys, the project is now open business, due to my daily job I cannot be there unless on Thursday so I hired a young local and he is doing fine (started 2 weeks ago), here are some of the modifications and the new work.

new video

I made a modification to the long axis that eliminated the vibration i had during high speed cuts, the secret was having the motor on 90 degrees with the ball bearings on the long axis that's it.

tell me if the speed is good...
