Spectrophotometer Question

Can someone tell me the basics of this machine, and what kind I need in order to use it for aluminum and gray iron castings? I want to know the type/grade of casting I am getting from the furnace.

I did some research about this.There are chemical kits availlable for metal testing,in the $450 range.Do a seach for "aluminum alloy testng".
