Hey I'm a brand new member here, and also brand new to the world of CNC. Please forgive me if this question gets asked alot but I got a few basic questions.
Do any of you guys use your machine for business? I mean you make your business out of your machine(s)? Like, I am interested in making this machine to at least pay itself back, but it would nice to be self employed with it. So I guess I"m asking how hard it is to start out and actually make a living off of it, if that's possible. Really, I have like an indefinite amount of time to spend on this project and I am actually a software engineer also so I could custom program this thing to do pretty much anything as well as I got tons of Autocad experience.
You ever seen those "engrave your name on a cedar sign" booths at the fairs and flea markets? They're done with a router, either freehand, or with a pantograph.
A CNC machine would open all sorts of possibilities, and allow you to do some really neat effects, as well.
Use your imagination, and you can come up with all sorts of "home business" ideas for your CNC machine.
