If you can use fully supported bearing rods then it will be best.

My machine mechanism same, but i see some people's cnc different.
Can you compare 2 type machines. What are the adwantages and disadvantages.
First Choice is x-y axis independent, z axis build on x axis
Example: compax's macine.
Second Choice is x axis build on y axis and z axis build on x axis
Example: Balsaman's machine.

Looks good. What package did you use for the design and then the rendering?

Your machine design is generally easier to build and more acurate. A great choice for the first time builder. The moving gantry style (like mine and Homecnc) is more complex but is smaller for the same cutting volume.
Nice design.

I wish it wouldn't crash.
I used SolidWorks for the desing and rendering, Its a really good program. I'm planning to build it next weekendOriginally posted by buckie555
