Hi,
I badly know English. It is computer transfer.
In scheme Uzzors2K.com there is no dead time for IGBT
Parities are very important: the coil/preparation, height, diameter, a backlash.
I have badly understood a question.
In furnaces for jewellers gold, silver, bronze melting in graphite crucibles, or in ceramic crucibles through graphite inserts. Frequency not less than 66 kHz
=======
Has specified transfer :-)
Thanks you for the scheme!!! The scheme is worthy respect
It is very useful to fans

Hi all,
I think that Uzzors uses drivers delays to obtain some deadtime to Mosfets.
I use 1.3 uHy four turns coil soaked with coil grouth used in induction furnaces, then some mica paper and after that I use ceramic coth for thermal insulation around a small crucible.

About your question some books says that the thickness of the current path (workpiece) should be at least 4 times than the current penetration deph to avoid current cancellation so high freq. is used in small parts.
also because in non ferrous metals with low resistivity it is nesesary to obtain a pronounced skin effect to generate enough heat in workpiece.
I use 40Khz for mine.

regards,
Hernán

Hello CNC geeks,

How to introduce myself? Well, a long time ago I had contact with some of the early posters in this thread: Warpseed, Mawson, Tekko, maybe some others under screen names. None seem to have posted recently, so as an introduction, I'm probably setting myself up as a friend-of-a-friend here...

At any rate, it's been quite a while, but I've finally developed a stable product. Behold:

http://myweb.msoe.edu/williamstm/Ima...uction1103.jpg

http://myweb.msoe.edu/williamstm/Ima...uction1104.jpg

This is a 1kW induction heater unit. Power input is a regular 120V outlet (or 240V, but not switchable). It runs 20-100kHz, has automatic frequency control, PLL and internal current limiting. Typical output is up to 70V, 240A at 50kHz. It will heat the end of a 1/2" steel pipe orange hot (in free air) in about a minute. See my video here:

Although this is a development thread, I regret to say I won't share my completed design with you. (But hey, what would be the fun in that, anyway?) The reason is, I am currently offering plans, kits and completed units for sale. The plans include (hopefully) everything you need to know in order to complete a unit; the kit includes parts (or you can order them seperately, same thing), everything but hardware and metal (you provide your own chassis, copper tubing, etc.). Typically, a kit costs around $280.

Sooner or later, I'll finish my 10kW model (the thing I originally set out to do, so I can melt 10 pounds of steel <-- on topic content!), which will likewise be available in a similar format. Current estimates put the sticker price of a completed unit around $2000, which is quite a bit cheaper than any commercially available (even the Chinese hunks of junk start at $3000!).

I will, however, answer any questions you have, and I'm not afraid to write detailed answers.

Tim

Hello T3sl4,
Do not forget to put your website here when you sell the plans. When the plans will be available? Thanks.

Ah yes, my website is
http://webpages.charter.net/dawill/tmoranwms
I don't currently have anything on it about the kits, but I do have part of the development.

Plans are currently available, e-mail me at tmoranwms@gmail.com.

Thanks for the offer.
Now I conduct the professional project of the induction furnace and an induction heater, the inverter on 30-40 kw, further a standard number of 60 kw of 100-120 kw.
After assemblage I will lay out a photo.
Sets and products also will arrive in free sale.

Some schemes from the device
Photo diodes - self-diagnostics
The driver even in working out.

The work motto:
Simplicity of Russian tank T-34 and reliability of the Kalashnikov АК-47

Hello T3sl4,
I will check your website when everything ready. I am busy now to make cnc router, plasma, milling and lathe for my shop. I need induction furnace to harden thing for my product after all done. I will check whether to buy kit or plan, depend on how easy to get component here and soldering. Thanks.

Photo of the device of the inverter of 18 kw made in China.
The price of 4000 dollars :-)

The inverter made in China. The description device, the description of lacks, is a lot of photos.

HI to all , welcome Tim! good luck with your new bussines!

this is picture of my 3.5 kw 40Khz IH for research .I use a PIC 16F877 board ( 8 channel analog input and various digital outs... ) to control the cooling system temperature, PLL inverter board , start secuence and stepper motor automatic L match gap adjust for all kind of load materials.I enclosed all in the same cabinet. the furnace and water radiator are away from the cabinet.

I have the idea to build 10KW coreless Induction furnace too !
