    Default Lathe Gui for Emc2

I am looking for a Gui to use emc2 for a lathe. I have tried editing the .ini files to two axis without any luck. After editing the Gui will display two axis but Z will not update when you jog axis. Also can anyone explain how this software works? I would like to know how I can edit Tkemc.tcl and have the software use this new file. I would like to know what file the software looks at first to know what files to go and get when it needs them. Anyone out there using emc2 for a lathe project? Any information would be great. Thank you

Lathe support is pretty new to emc2.. What version emc2 are you using?
emc 2.0 has very limited lathe capabilities.

There is a lot of support in head though.
Take a look at the nist config
    http://cvs.linuxcnc.org/cvs/emc2/configs/nist-lathe/
    to install head
    http://wiki.linuxcnc.org/cgi-bin/emc...nstalling_EMC2
look at secion 2 (this is for ubuntu)
Now head is constantly being updated - so there might be issues off and on.

here is what they have added and hope to add

here is a picture of emc2-axis lathe setup

I have not used the lathe setup yet - this is all from asking the experts at on the irc.freenode.net #emc channel. They are very very good.

I am looking to replace the AHHA control on my lathe with something.
Does the DRO update in real time and is there offsets (tool or wear) that can be changed while machine is running code?
