ShopSabre hand held remote?

We are new to the cnc world and have a ShopSabre 36x36 router. One of the things we have encountered is that it is difficult to align the x,y and z to the work from the keyboard. As a result we work with two guys. A friend of ours is a machinist and recommended a hand held remote for operation.

Do you know of a remote that works with the WinCNC software and if so where can I get one?

Thanks,

I have been using a wireless keyboard and mouse combo and it seems to work fine. I was concerned about potential interference, but haven't had any problems. I can take the keyboard to far end of the machine and align when needed.

remote keypad

Hi, I use a hand held keypad like the one on the right side of the keyboard and use the arrows for the x and y and use the up or down for the z. It plugs into the usb port on the computer. Cost is about $25 from Best Buy.

Good Luck,

Ddog

in wincnc you can create common xy settings. home machine then move xy where you wish to have a common or job home, then pull down settings-home positions- pick one, give it a name- then key "get pos" when you close the box it will save this position. you can then always return to this position from home !!

Thanks for the tip on the hand held keypad. Man does it work slick. I just set the speed at medium on the big board and walk around to the work. Adjust my settings and go back and go too work.

Thanks,

Mike
